Ryde Area Sydney Home Cladding Renovation

BEFORE

As you can see this Ryde area Sydney home built 1910 was looking tired. It had a makeover in the 1960′s with house cladding products and house cladding materials. The Permalum aluminium cladding and the coating was powdering away and it was dented, the aluminium windows were the old thin ones and the rubber seals was perished. The roof tiles were fretted and needed to be replaced they could not be restored.

AFTER

We made everything old new again. Firstly we stripped the roof and replaced the battens and then laid an insulating foil blanket, then a new colorbond roof. New colorbond gutters and facias were fitted. A bullnose verandah replaced the old and a window hood fitted over the new front window. A gable set with finial was added. The eaves were clad with Icon eave cladding system New Bracey aluminium windows and sliding doors with a 70 mm external architraves, (as part of the window) with fly screens security locks, and laminated glass (used for extra insulation and security) were fitted with dressed maple architraves and reveals to match the existing internal timber around doorways. Some of the windows were changed to new sizes to match the new use of rooms with tyne internal renovation. Palliside insulating UPVC weatherboard cladding was fitted to the home after the the old aluminium cladding was stripped off. Note: Palliside will not FADE or POWER. The home is now the best looking in the street and reflects the original architecture

Liverpool Sydney Vinyl Wall Cladding

BEFORE

Shows the home with tile roof/ old awning /old vinyl cladding tired 60′s home

AFTER

The home has been changed to a colonial farm house. The renovations included an insulated colorbond roof with roof ventilators -gull grey/colorbond gutter-slate grey/colorbond facia-white/downpipes -vanilla, note the downpipes are the same colour as the insulated Palliside UPVC weatherboards so they blend in and are not noticed. The eaves are cladded in Icon eave sheet over the existing fibro-white. The vinyl cladding has been stripped and replaced with Austalian Palliside UPVC weatherboards -vanilla, which will not fade ,powder or warp as the imported vinyl has> the old windows replaced with aluminium cladding windows, screens and security locks, made to measured so the inside walls do not need painting and the window furnishings still fit and do not have to be replaced-white. Window hoods fitted to windows and the old awning replaced with a bullnose to complete the total make over. You would not know it was the same house!

Hornsby Sydney House Cladding Renovation

BEFORE

Concrete tile /fibro cladded/timber windows ex housing commission home built in the 60′s

AFTER

The home has been converted into a modern cottage that is now fully maintenance free. The roof was restored, broken tiles replaced, cleaned, filler/ sealer coat applied and then 2 coats of roof membrane water proofing (charcoal) and then top pointed so it does not look like a painted roof/colorbond gutter-montain blue/colorbond facia/downpipes-white, were fitted icon eave sheet was installed over the existing fibro eaves -white. The old timber windows were replaced with made to measure aluminium cladding windows with laminated glass, screens and security locks ( key to like) and all the front windows were changed to the one size for visual symmetry -mountain blue/matching window hoods were installed/and a new white powder coated column and balustrade fitted.
The fibre wall were clad in insulated Palliside cladding.

NOTE: the individual rusticated corners that we now have available to complement the Palliside weatherboards.

Fairfield Sydney Home Cladding

BEFORE

Typical concrete tile, fibro, timber windows, 60′s cottage

AFTER

The home has now been modernised and made maintenance free.

The roof was restored ,broken tiles replaced, cleaned, filler/sealer and then 2 coats of roof membrane waterproofing (black) applied, and lastly bedding and pointing. note; the power lines are insulated during construction for safety. The gutters, facias and downpipes fitted are all colourbond. The gutters are 115mm slotted, so any over flow will not run back into the eaves. Again the eaves have been clad in Icon eave sheet in white. The windows have been changed to cladding windows with laminated glass for insulation and security, and the right window has been changed in size to match the left window, screens and locks fitted. where the windows are made smaller the inside is gyprocked. The fibro has been cladded over and sealed with Palliside weatherboards which are structural and can be used in new construction, fitted direct to studs. All light fittings have been refitted.

Parramatta Ermington Sydney – External Home Renovation

BEFORE

This is a typical 1960′s weatherboard home with a terracota tile roof.
The maintenance costs were becoming absorbinate. The weatherboards would have needed to have all the paint stripped, undercoated and then painted, also some of the boards had dry rot along with the timber facias on the gables. The gutters needed replacing along with the downpipes and the facias also needed painting.
The eaves also needed repair.
The terracotta roof needed a restoration, as it was covered in lychen, the pointing of the tiles was in a bad way.
The bakalite fittings on the power line point of attachment to the home needed to be changed. (the Tiger tails were removed after the job was finished, they are there to protect my tradesmen.)
Now have a look at the after photo!

AFTER

The existing weatherboards have had all the dry rot cut out and been covered with Palliside UPVC weatherboards. The roof has had all the broken tiles replaced,cleaned, antifungicided, rebeded and pointed,as you can see it looks just like a new roof! The rotten facia boards on the gables were removed and the Palliside weatherboards finish under the tiles to give a cleaner look. All the gutters,downpipes and barges were changed to colorbond,the facias were also covered.The eaves and verandahs were lined with Icon eave sheet.
No more painting!

The only mainenance required is a wash and this cottage will look like new for another 50 plus years

Tregear, Sydney Home Cladding Renovation

The windows and Palliside weatherboards are matching colours (primrose).
The roof has been restored, note the pointing has been done after the membranes have been applied.

The eaves have been clad in Icon eave sheet which never needs painting and the gutters, facias and downpipes are in colorbond, so no painting is needed on this home in the future, it is now maintenance free!

Blacktown, Sydney fibro house restoration

Note the roof /gutters and facias had already been renovated (you can tell it is a painted roof because it has been pointed before it was painting, whereas I point after I apply two roof membranes, then the house gets the apearance of a new tile roof not a painted one).
I installed windows with laminated glass for insulation as the home faces west, and we were able to discard the old awnings which dated the home. The eaves were clad in Icon eave sheet.
A new colour bond awning and carport were installed .
And of course Palliside UPVC weatherboards which will not fade, powder, warp, burn or hail damaged were installed as they also insulated the house and never need painting,

Bankstown Sydney Vinyl Wall Cladding

BEFORE

Existing home clad in fibro downstairs and Hardie Plank on the top floor addition which had been added 20 years ago.

AFTER

The home has been completely renew outside with colorbond gutter, facia, barges, downpipes-moutain blue/Icon eave sheet-almond/aluminium cladding windows ,screens , locks-Primrose. The verandah was enclosed adding a new window/air-con conduit cover changed to primrose/existing fibro, hardie-plank cladded over and encased in the insulating Palliside UPVC weatherboards-primrose.

Ryde Sydney Property Wall Cladding Materials

BEFORE

1930′s iron roof, Hardie plank, skinny aluminium windows, “do it yourself “20 year old previous renovation.

AFTER

Old iron roof removed, roof battens replaced and new insulated colorbond roof (black) installed. With matching black gutters/facias and primrose downpipes. The old awning was replace with a new colorbond (black and creme) fitted to the facia. The old windows are replaced with cladding windows that have an external 65mm architrave as part of the window. The Hardi-plank was clad over with Australian made Palliside UPVC weatherboard, which are category C cyclone rated and used as a primary structural cladding in tropical Australia. Again note the rusticated corners that add class to the overall look of the Palliside.

Parramatta Sydney Home

BEFORE

1960′s terracota /fibro/timber window cottage,structurally sound . Just the use- by date of the exterior has passed.
NOTE; this BEFORE photo was taken 9 years before the AFTER photo (check the vegetation in the garden).

AFTER

The terracotta roof was overhauled, broken tiles, replaced, cleaned, rebedded where necessary and pointed then an anti-fungicide apply to kill the lichen spores . A roof ventilator was fitted.

Colorbond gutter and facia in black were fitted with matching black cladding windows with grey laminated glass(front of the home faced west) screens/locks the inside of the windows have dressed maple reveals and 65mm architraves as standard .The eaves were clad and Palliside UPVC weatherboards fitted ,after 9 years there is no fading or powdering.

The home looks the same as the day it was finished!

Lidcombe Sydney External Home Renovation

BEFORE

1920′s iron roof, timber windows, weatherboard home with exposed rafters and eaves in original condition, dry rot in weatherboards.

AFTER

Firstly all dry rot was cut out ! The barge boards on the gables are cover in colorbond and the gutters and facia are fitted and the eaves boxed in with eave sheeting the verandah ceiling was also clad. The meter board was exposed and a colorbond meter box was installed, the cladding windows installed were single hung to match the 1920′s style. Powder coated Georgian columns are fitted and the weatherboards are cladded over with Palliside UPVC weatherboards which will not support combustion (burn) and can be used in all bush fire zoned areas of Australia .
The home now looks like it did when it was built in the 1920′s and will now last another 100 years with no maintenance other than a wash.

Narraweena Sydney Home

BEFORE

50′s timber/ concrete tile cottage with major pealing of paint which would have to be burnt off primed and 2 coats of paint applied probably at a cost of $10K or more ! Repeated every 7 years!

AFTER

The concrete tiles have been restored using the same procedures as previously outlined on the Fairfield and Hornsby renovations. Note, concrete tiles do not gain maximum strength till they are fully cured and this can take up to 50 years and they will last 100 years once restored! Again colorbond gutter, facia and downpipes( river gum ) fitted .Primrose cladding windows, screens and locks to match the Palliside weatherboard Cladding which has been fitted over the existing weatherboards. This provides an additional layer and hence trapping more air and assisting the insulating cellular core of the Palliside external cladding, an R rating of approximately 2.5 is the norm when Palliside is installed over fibro or weatherboard.

Sutherland Sydney Home

BEFORE

Typical 1960′s home in need of a complete make over.

AFTER

The roof was given a complete restoration, broken tiles replaced, tiles sealed, 2 coats of roof membrane applied and the the ridges bedded and pointed.The gutters facias and downpipes have been changed to colorbond and note our gutters have been fitted using internal gutter hanging, hence a clean line. The windows have been changed to aluminium cladding type so the Palliside insulating weatherboards fit in behind the window giving a smooth look. The centre window has been changed to match the other two front windows giving a more modern look. And a new colorbond awning has been installed to provide shelter over the entry.

It’s now a brand new home and no more painting!

Engadine Sydney House Cladding Renovation

BEFORE

Log cabin fibro, concrete tile home in a bush fire zoned area.

AFTER

The tile roof has been restored as outlined on previous jobs, colorbond gutters,facia and downpipes installed, gutter with slotted front to prevent water running back into the home. The eaves have been clad. Fire rated aluminium cladding windows, screens, locks all made to measure with new dressed maple reveals and architraves fitted internally. The fixed window over the garage has been filled in and a new garage door installed. Fire rated Australian made and designed Palliside insulating weatherboards have entombed the existing asbestos cladding making the house now safe. All work with asbestos is carried out as per OHMS and WSA.

No worries about bush fires, asbestos, painting or summers now!

Botany Sydney House

BEFORE

This house is clad in cedar and the problem with cedar is it buckles and warps like vinyl cladding in the Australian climate.

AFTER

The house was scaffolded prior to work commencing. The facia boards and eaves are clad to save future costs of painting and scaffold. Palliside weatherboards are installed. The insulating cellular core of Palliside absorbs expansion and contraction, no warping, buckling or cracking.

Penrith Western Sydney – Home Cladding Renovation

BEFORE

60′s log cabin, fibro (asbestos ) home with timber windows.

AFTER

This home was not a full renovation, like most jobs I do . It is all a matter of budget! I have designed the cladding system so that the gutters, facias, eaves, and roof can be done at a later date when the budget allows. The fibre glass awning was removed and replaced with a brown and creme colorbond one. New aluminium cladding windows are tailor made for the home. Glade colour Palliside weatherboards have insulated the home and encased the asbestos. Notice the rusticated corners.

Panania Sydney Home Cladding Renovation

BEFORE

The home has been previously clad in Permalum aluminium cladding with butt-jointed thin windows and timber architraves, this previous renovation was done in the 70′s.

AFTER

The concrete tile roof was restored. The eaves clad in Icon eave sheet (almond). Peter changed the downpipes to the colour of the Palliside cladding (glade) which was installed after stripping the aluminium cladding which was dented and peeling. Cladding aluminium windows with external architraves as part of the extrusion  and the existing external timber architraves are removed. The old windows had perished rubber, were corroded and because of their size were rattling in the wind and leaking. My cladding windows have no rubber on the outside to perish, they are silicone sealed, cyclone rated and guaranteed not to leak as I also flash the surround of the new windows when they are installed.

For extra insulation and security I installed Grey laminated security glass (the same as fitted to office buildings). The glass is also available in clear. Most of my jobs have laminated glass in the windows, for insulation and security.

Blacktown Sydney – Home Renovation

BEFORE

Iron roof/ fibro cottage , old aluminium windows and gutters.

AFTER

This is another full renovation. New colorbond roof ,gutters, facias and downpipes. I have installed clear laminated glass with new aluminium windows ( cuts out 50% of heat and cold loss ). The glass is security glass also, no need for ugly shutters! The fibro eaves have been clad over using Icon eave sheet. The fibro (asbestos ) walls have been clad over and sealed with insulating Palliside UPVC weatherboard cladding.
