]]>This 100 hundred year old plus home in Enfield (circa 1910) had been renovated previously, making this renovation a much simpler affair than it might otherwise have been. The house was good structurally but the previously applied vinyl cladding, gutters, windows, fascias, roof and eaves were all largely in need of replacement.
We were able to quote a price that was about a quarter of a knockdown and rebuild. The pictures don’t exactly do it justice but the renovation completely removed the dingy-grimy inner city that it had pre-makeover.
AFTER
We removed the old rusted roof, replaced the battens, added a new 50mm foil insulation blanket, and used new colorbond for the roofing. Gutters, downpipes, barges and fascia were also replaced colorbond, and Icon Hampton’s eaveboard was fitted to box in the eaves.
The windows of the house were quite deteriorated and were replaced with our Bracey cladding windows. Due to the location and the need for sound and temperature insulation high quality insulating security glass was used – effectively bringing the home into the 21st century.
The old vinyl cladding was then removed, and Australian made Palliside structural UPVC weatherboards were put in place. This type of cladding is safe, never needs painting, is long lasting and relatively impervious (compared to many other types of cladding).
The verandah awning at the rear of the house was replaced with a new Lysaught flatdeck one, and finally the site was cleared of rubbish.
In conjunction with the yard clean up, the house now shows some pride in its heritage!

]]>The weatherboard home was built in the 60’s and after 50 years was ripe for a facelift and the Hamptons style seemed the logical solution.
The tiles had lost there waterproof coating although still structurally sound, the gutters were the original galvanised ones, the timber facias had dry rot and needed painting, the fibro eaves were sagging, weatherboards had dry rot and needed major repairs and painting, the brickwork and timber railing needed a spruce up.
Peter Bracey and his tradesmen to the rescue!
AFTER
The roof had the broken tiles replaced, roof cleaned, a sealer coating applied, then two coats of roof membrane with a 10-year warranty and finally the ridges were rebeded were necessary and top pointed in flexi-point, a new roof!
The gutter, timber fascias and downpipes were all changed to Lysaughts colorbond, so no need to paint.
The eaves were all cladded in Hampton’s eave sheeting again eliminating the painting
The walls were rid of any dry rot and clad in Australian made Palliside UPVC weatherboards that contains a UV filter, so it will not become brittle and insulates the home with its inbuilt cellular core.
The timber windows were retained on this job.
The handrail was renewed and the brick foundations were clad in sandstone tiles.
The clients have made a very canny investment in their home for future, no more maintenance worries and a big increase in the value of their home!

]]>As you can see this home has previously be clad in vinyl cladding, with normal skinny aluminum windows, the windows give the house a whole in the wall look, there is no character to the windows, because there is no exterior architrave. Vinyl cladding, because it does not contain a UV filter had become brittle and the cladding had hole in them. Also the colour has faded and a white powder appeared on the surface.
AFTER
The client wanted a Hampton’s beach style cottage look, and so Peter Bracey replaced the tiled roof with a colorbond roof, matching colorbond gutters and fascias, front patio. the old vinyl cladding was stripped off the home, old aluminium windows removed and Australia made uv protected Palliside wall cladding was fitted, with Bracey architrave laminated glass windows were also installed and the fibro eaves we clad in Hampton’s style eave boards. As you can see $150K was added to the value of the home.

]]>The home looks ready for a knock down/rebuild ,however the owners could not afford that option! They had seen the 2 homes across the street, Peter had renovated 25 years prior.
AFTER
The foundations and piers were renewed were necessary. The walls straightened, Australian made Palliside cladding, with a 25 year warranty fitted. New windows and doors were configured and installed, note the windows have an external architrave, which takes away that caravan window look, as well as laminated glass for security and insulation, new timber reveals and architraves inside, security locks that are key to lock, fly screens and stainless steel crim safe screens to the sliding doors. The eaves were renewed with Icon eave sheet which looks like painted timber and never needs to be painted. New colorbond gutters, facias, barges and downpipes were fitted. The rusted out iron roof was stripped and a new, insulated colorbond roof was installed on new battens. A deck and colorbond patio was constructed at the rear and a colorbond awning with an attached carport to the front of the home, finally the garage received the same facelift. The home is like new again at a fraction of the price of a rebuild, Peter’s price is a fixed price, no extra costs, the price you are quoted is the price you pay!
You guess the increased value to the property, $200K, $300K, $400K ! And the bonus of all Australian materials and no more painting, ever!

]]>As you can see this Ryde area Sydney home built 1910 was looking tired. It had a makeover in the 1960’s with house cladding products and house cladding materials. The Permalum aluminium cladding and the coating was powdering away and it was dented, the aluminium windows were the old thin ones and the rubber seals was perished. The roof tiles were fretted and needed to be replaced they could not be restored.
AFTER
We made everything old new again. Firstly we stripped the roof and replaced the battens and then laid an insulating foil blanket, then a new colorbond roof. New colorbond gutters and facias were fitted. A bullnose verandah replaced the old and a window hood fitted over the new front window. A gable set with finial was added. The eaves were clad with Icon eave cladding system New Bracey aluminium windows and sliding doors with a 70 mm external architraves, (as part of the window) with fly screens security locks, and laminated glass (used for extra insulation and security) were fitted with dressed maple architraves and reveals to match the existing internal timber around doorways. Some of the windows were changed to new sizes to match the new use of rooms with tyne internal renovation. Palliside insulating UPVC weatherboard cladding was fitted to the home after the the old aluminium cladding was stripped off. The home is now the best looking in the street and reflects the original architecture

]]>The home was built in the 1960s and was structurally sound but in need of a full renovation as it had not been maintained.
As you can see the roof needed renovating, the gutters were rusted out , the facia rotting as were the windows and the fibro cladding was busted and cracked.
Fire rating was very important as it was in a bush fire area, and a non- flammable material was required.
NOTE: Palliside is Australian made, will not burn as it will not support combustion and has a nil ignition rating as per Australian Standard AS 1503.3 ( in Red).
AFTER
No more worrying about bushfires as all Australian made materials were used in all renovations Peter Bracey undertakes. The roof was renovated using NU-Tech 2000 roof membranes system with a 10 year warranty.
New colorbond gutter, downpipes and fascia cover were installed.
The eaves were clad in Hampton style eave sheeting.
The walls were clad in non-flammable Palliside maintenance free UPVC weatherboards.
The windows changed to aluminium, note the external architrave, so they do not look like a caravan window.
A new Lysaughts colorbond flat-deck patio was installed to match the Hampton eave..

The home has been changed to a colonial farm house. The renovations included an insulated colorbond roof with roof ventilators -gull grey/colorbond gutter-slate grey/colorbond facia-white/downpipes -vanilla, note the downpipes are the same colour as the insulated Palliside UPVC weatherboards so they blend in and are not noticed. The eaves are cladded in Icon eave sheet over the existing fibro-white. The vinyl cladding has been stripped and replaced with Austalian Palliside UPVC weatherboards -vanilla, which will not warp as the imported vinyl has> the old windows replaced with aluminium cladding windows, screens and security locks, made to measured so the inside walls do not need painting and the window furnishings still fit and do not have to be replaced-white. Window hoods fitted to windows and the old awning replaced with a bullnose to complete the total make over. You would not know it was the same house!

Replacement of vinyl and aluminium cladding with Palliside upvc weatherboards now accounts for about 30% of our business.
At the same time clients usually get us to renovate other areas of their home as we are licensed builders not just cladders.
The after photo shows the new Palliside plus colorbond facia cover, icon eave sheeting and two window hoods that we installed over the front windows to take away the naked look of the existing aluminium windows. We also installed eave sheet under a pergola at the rear of the home and installed a new awning at the rear
